An Updates Post

Hello everyone! Today I'm doing something different to normal. A lot has happened the last few days so I thought an updates post was in order!

Yesterday it was announced by royal reporters that the Duchess of Sussex has officially began her maternity leave. Whilst this is an exciting announcement and Baby Sussex will be here very soon, it also means far less public engagements until around Winter. Of course the Duchess has thrived in her role for the past year and this break is very well deserved. Royal Reporter Victoria Murphy tweeted: ''And there are no more public appearances currently planned for Meghan before the arrival of Baby Sussex although she will continue to work behind the scenes until closer to her due date. You also never know if another public trip might be squeezed in! (although nothing scheduled).''

After months of mounting speculation, it has been announced that the Cambridges and Sussexes will be splitting their households. The official press release:

The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new household for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year. The household, which will be created with the support of the Queen and the Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring.
The Duke of Sussex currently has his own private office, which has been supporting the Duchess since the engagement of Their Royal Highnesses in November 2017. This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for the Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage.
The Queen has given permission for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to base their Household Office at Buckingham Palace. Their Royal Highnesses will appoint new communications staff, who will form part of the Buckingham Palace communications team and report to the Queen’s Communications Secretary, Donal McCabe.
Kensington Palace will continue to support Their Royal Highnesses until that team is in place.

Honestly, I'm not surprised this has happened. I don't think it's because there is a feud between the couples, I think both have very different lines of work. Not to mention the fact that William is the future King of England, a joint office would never of lasted. This will mean the Sussexes own Instagram account and I honestly can't wait! I think it will be a very modern space and the couple will get involved with it to. What are your thoughts on this?

Ending today's post with a quick message to all those affected by the Christchurch attack. This news has deeply saddened people all over the world, myself included. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.. A look at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussexes press release:

Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives in the devastating attack in Christchurch. We have all been fortunate to spend time in Christchurch and have felt the warm, open-hearted and generous spirit that is core to its remarkable people.
No person should ever have to fear attending a sacred place of worship. This senseless attack is an affront to the people of Christchurch and New Zealand, and the broader Muslim community. It is a horrifying assault on a way of life that embodies decency, community, and friendship.
We know that from this devastation and deep mourning, the people of New Zealand will unite to show that such evil can never defeat compassion and tolerance. We send our thoughts and prayers to everyone in New Zealand today.
Kia Kaha.

Thank you for reading this quick updates post! A brief look at Meghan's maternity style was promised and I will get it out sometime in the week. I expect a few details of Meghan's labor will come out soon (what hospital she'll give birth in).

ABOUT

Welcome to the Duchess of Sussex Style, a  blog chronicling the life and style of Meghan Markle.
Meghan was born on August 4th 1981 to Doria Ragland, a clinical therapist and yoga instructor and Thomas Markle, a television lighting and photography director. She wrote the popular lifestyle blog, The Tig and stared on USA series, Suits.
Alongside her previous career as an actress, the Duchess had (and still has) a keen awareness of social issues from a young age and has actively participated in charitable work. She worked alongside a few charities including World Vision, a campaign that works to allow young children to continue their education in Rwanda.
I’m 2016, it was announced that Meghan was dating Prince Harry. Having never heard of her before, I was extremely impressed by her passion for certain causes and how well she worked under the limelight.
Please stick around as we navigate Meghan’s life and style. I’ve received so much support since starting this blog and it means the world.
